Davos has a dual claim to fame as the home of the second largest ski and hiking resort in Switzerland and the host to the World Economic Forum (WEF), an annual meeting of global political and business elites (often referred to simply as Davos).

Davos has many world-class tourist attractions, including superb skiing facilities on Rinerhorn - a favorite skiing location for locals, with ski runs that are usually less crowded than other ski resorts; Parsenn - the original ski area offering over 28 challenging ski runs catering for intermediate and advanced skiers; Jakobshorn - aimed at snowboarders and beginners, with 28 trails and a long terrain park; and Pischa – the smallest skiing resort, offering freeride slopes. Last but not least, the skiarea Schatzalp-Strela, also known as slow mountain, offers unhurried and snugly ski pleasures.

 

Next to alpine skiing, there are 75 km of cross-country skiing trails, toboggan runs and romantic horse sleigh rides throughout the region so as an over 30’000 sq. yards of natural ice rink with curling rinks.
